In an exclusive on Vanity Fair, Apple announced that Marc Newson will be joining their design team. The UK-based designer will be joining previous collaborator and senior vice president of Apple design, Sir Jonathan Ive. Last September, Newson and Ive created and curated products for Bono's Charity Auction that included a  customized Range Rover, solid rose gold earbuds and a Leica digital camera.

Although it is not yet clear what role Newson will play at Apple, Ive told Vanity Fair, “He is extraordinarily talented. We are particularly excited to formalize our collaboration as we enjoy working together so much and have found our partnership so effective.”

The award-winning creator, who has often been referred to as the most innovative of his generation, designs in a style known as biomorphism, which uses silhouettes inspired by nature and eliminates sharp edges. He has produced in the fields of clothing, home goods, transportation and interiors. He has worked with companies like Lanvin, Quantas Airways  and Cappellini.
