Clear’s Drink of the Month: Battistella

Battistella is an Il Prosecco sparkling wine and it is Clear’s drink of the month. The selection of refined Prosecco D.O.C. grapes produces a fine sparkling wine, thus expressing the vines particularity: straw yellow in color with vague green highlights; the aroma is that of a typical and unmistakable sour apple, with hints of wild fruit that fades into intense floral notes; the taste is soft, velvety and fresh at the same time, with an explosion of fine and lasting bubbles that enhances the excellent combination of flavors.

Battistella is best enjoyed within a year of bottling, so don’t wait too long to pop open a bottle, celebrate and enjoy.

Fall Scents – Balenciaga Paris and Bottega Veneta Launch New Fragrances

Balenciaga Paris L’Essence – The essence of the Balenciaga signature fragrance, inspired by the Balenciaga fashion jewels, reflects the high quality and savoir-faire of the brand. The bottle of this leathery violet scent has a reflective, raw effect, as pure as a sharp-edged jewel made of hematite.

Top: violet leaves, pimento berries
Mid: leathery facets of labdanum
Base: cedar wood, patchouli, vetiver

Available exclusively at Neiman Marcus and at all specialty stores starting in November 2011.

Bottega Veneta – Bottega Veneta, the eau de parfum, evokes the suppleness and sensuality of the house’s renowned leather goods. The fragrance, a leathery floral chypre, marries the olfactory language of the Venetian countryside—fresh meadows, mown hay, flowers, earth, and wood. The bottle itself, inspired by Venetian glasswork and the traditional Italian carafe.

Top: pink peppercorn, bergamot, lily of the valley
Mid: jasmine, leather, patchouli

Clear Magazine’s Drink of the Month: Hot Caramel Buttered Rum

Clear's Drink of the Month - October

The fall season is the start of cold, crisp days and chilly nights. Hot Caramel Buttered Rum is the perfect blend of the tastes of fall. Van Gogh Imports’ Dutch Caramel Vodka provides the kick to this cozy fall drink. Serve this drink at your next fall party; sip it by the fire and unwind. Either way this drink is sure to warm ones spirits.

HOT CARAMEL BUTTERED RUM
3 oz Ron Abuelo Añejo

1 oz Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka

1/4 stick Unsalted Butter, softened

2 Tbsp Brown Sugar

2 Tbsp Honey
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon

1/2 tsp Ground Cloves
1/2 tsp Nutmeg

Cinnamon Stick

Combine all ingredients (excluding rum and vodka) into a hot drinking cup or mug.  Mix together with a spoon then add Ron Abuelo Añejo and Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka.  Pour in hot water (1 cup or more to personal taste) and stir vigorously until the mixture has dissolved.  Garnish with cinnamon stick.
