Share this PostIn collaboration with the H&M design team, UXUS was invited to create the launch for the H&M Home Collection at their headquarters in Stockholm. The approach was to create a “gallery” of fun fashion home products which customers are encouraged to touch and explore. H&M Home is a gallery/showroom using highly emotional product presentations, which verge on art, to encourage customers to engage with the brand.

Bohemian, a series of upholstery pieces designed by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso, will be coming to the US this fall. In this collection, Urquiola has taken a very original approach to classic capitonné work, giving it a completely new, modern look through fluid, irregular forms, with softly pillowed surfaces that seem to melt over the rounded, smooth fiberglass shell frames. The soft covers, fixed with press-studs, are completely removable to emphasize the idea that they are like pieces of clothing, or shawls, casually thrown over the shoulders of the chairs. The seat can be layered with cushions in alternate technical textiles, such as faux fur and weaves inspired by Mongolian rugs, to create a global aesthetic that is a collage of cultures and traditions.

Opening September 14th and running four weeks, the Moroso exhibition traces the history of the twenty year working relationship between Arad and Moroso. The exhibition will include prototypes and edition pieces that are in creative director Patrizia Moroso’s own personal collection.
