Song for the Mute

Song for the Mute is the merging of the creative talent from award winning graphic artist Melvin Tanaya and Parisian-born, Italian-trained designer Lyna Ty.

Upong winning the 1st place scholarship in the Whitehouse Institute of Design, Lyna obtained her masters at the renowned Accademia Italiana di Moda. Melvin, a graduate of the Billy Blue School of Graphic Arts with a degree in Communication Design and a Masters in Commerce, brings his creative vision, direction, and business know-how to the partnership.

Song for the Mute is a nod toward the directional struggle encountered by the male. Exploring a fusion of eras in their debut A/W 2010 collection Ink; Song for the Mute pieces are raw, and storytelling; the antithesis of corporate uniformity.
