Carlos Miele’s Recycled Boutique!

Opening today in Iguatemi

Brazilian designer ’s first signature opens today at , Sao Paulo  - and it’s made out of entirely repurposed materials! Featuring vintage Brazilian furniture by , Miele’s new shop honors the space’s architectural history (originally designed by Brazilian architect ) while using sustainable and repurposed products to reduce waste and the boutique’s overall carbon footprint. The new boutique occupies two floors, with features including a lighting plan that creates indirect light from both the floor and interior of the walls. As Miele says, “Designers are essentially gatekeepers between raw materials and final products, whether a dress or a chair or an architectural space.”

Miele’s work takes advantage of ’s beautiful handcrafting techniques – too many of which are slowly being fogotten – to make fantastic multi-disciplinary work with a social conscience. Check out pics of Miele in the new shop and more of his latest, oh-so-feminine collection in our slideshow!
