RTWORK BY MAJOR CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS CONTRIBUTING TO THE 2010 TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL ARTIST AWARDS, ON DISPLAY AT THE CHANEL BOUTIQUE SOHOThe 2010 Tribeca Film Festival and CHANEL will host a unique gallery show free and open to the public featuring original artwork from some of the world’s most renowned contemporary artists from April 21 - April 28, between 11 a.m. -7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 12 -6 p.m. on Sunday, at the CHANEL Boutique in SoHo, 134 Spring Street, Manhattan.
The exhibit will include pieces by Yoko Ono, Stephen Posen, Maira Kalman, Stephen Hannock, Vik Muniz, Clifford Ross, Gada Amer and Reza Farkondeh, Maurizio Galimberti, Spencer Platt, Valerie Heggarty and Sheila Berger.
Each piece of art will be donated by the artists to the top 11 winning filmmakers at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.
The artwork – paintings, sculptures, photographs and drawings –will be on display in the days preceding the Festival’s final awards ceremony, which takes place the evening of April 29. The 2010 TFF Artists Award Program is sponsored by the fashion house Chanel whose commitment to the arts began with its founder Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel almost a century ago.
