HSBC Private Bank launches The Connection Collection, a private collection of specially commissioned limited edition design

HSBC Private Bank confirms its commitment to design by launching. The Connection Collection, a private collection of limited edition design to grow out of HSBC Private Bank commissions. The Connection Collection will debut with new work by Arik Levy, to be created in an edition of two. Levy’s design will be launched at Design Miami/ 2009 in the HSBC Private Bank Designers’ Lounge, a dedicated area for VIPs at the pre-eminent international fair for limited edition design.

Created specifically for the Museum, the installation will showcase the designer’s favorite projects over the last twenty years, including prototypes, personal editions, and objects never before exhibited.

The program will gather together some of the world’s most sought-after designers, including Fendi, Proenza Schouler, Duncan Quinn, Jessica Trosman, Christian Dior Homme, L’Eclaireur, Stubbs and Wootton, Pharrell William’s Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream, Katherine Fleming, Maia N., Cynthia Rowley, Neon Monster and others, to present limited edition merchandise as well as radically innovative programming and environments that reflect their creative viewpoints.

Sally is a new line of hand-painted pieces by designer Sally LaPointe with a slightly more casual flair and a younger sensibility than the debut SLOVE collection. The line is just now hitting stores and, among the pieces, there are captivating, monochromatic designs, featuring a hand-painted fade design that simultaneously conjures up images of the aerosol work in graffiti murals and shadowy scenes from film noir titles.
