Hotel Missoni…modern day traveler meets unmistakable Missoni design

Rosita Missoni, one of the original Missoni designers, and her design team will unveil Hotel Missoni this summer. With locations in Edinburgh and Kuwait, Hotel Missoni will combine the unique style of iconic Italian fashion & interiors. With the expertise of The Rezidor Hotel Group, Hotel Missoni will redefine the design hotel.

Rosita has cleverly combined the unmistakable Missoni prints with the work of designers that she personally admires such as Marcel Wanders, Eero Saarinen and Arne Jacobson. In Hotel Missoni Kuwait’s 18 floors and Hotel Missoni Edinburgh’s 6, guests will discover iconic pieces of design, some of which Rosita has in her own home, such as Hans J Wegner’s Wishbone Chair.

The lobby of both the Edinburgh and Kuwait Hotels Missoni will include 2 large mosaic urns, which will become something of a Hotel Missoni trademark.  Every Hotel Missoni will feature these over-sized urns decorated in the color scheme of the individual property.

The interiors of Hotel Missoni are bold, forthright and dramatic. In designing the Kuwait location, Rosita found inspiration in the brilliant blues and sparkling beaches of the Arabian Gulf.  The interior of Hotel Missoni Kuwait dons a palette of gold, turquoise and beige combined with unmistakable Missoni prints. The Edinburgh location’s color scheme is a simply reminiscent of Italian fashion and the Missoni way of life: stylish black & white punctuated with brilliant flashes of color.

Combining form and function, the accommodation has been carefully designed to meet the needs of today’s modern travelers. Edinburgh and Kuwait City will be the first two properties in the Hotel Missoni portfolio that will see several in the next 10 years. Through the worldwide license agreement concluded with Missoni, Rezidor’s strategy is to grow the Hotel Missoni brand globally, looking at both city-center and resort opportunities. The initial focus will be towards Europe and the Middle East but will quickly expand to include other markets such as North & South America and Asia.
